Edwards career fair draws crowd of 500-plus

The Fall 2026 Hiring Fair transformed the Military and Family Readiness Center into a bustling hub of career opportunities at Edwards Air Force Base, California, Sept. 17. The event drew more than 500 job seekers looking to break into federal service, transition from military life or secure roles in the private sector.

Hosted by the 412th Force Support Squadron, the career fair served as a major workforce bridge, connecting local talent and military families with 52 employers ready to hire. Participating organizations represented public safety, school districts, healthcare and the aerospace defense industry. This diverse lineup ensured career options for attendees at every stage, ranging from entry-level administrative positions to highly specialized aerospace engineering roles.

The high volume of immediate, face-to-face interactions left both base organizers and visiting employers highly optimistic about the future of the regional workforce.

"The event exceeded expectations," said Olga Duran, a Work and Life consultant with Military and Family Readiness. "Participants had many opportunities, from meaningful career conversations to on-the-spot interviews."
